benc is tool for working with bencoded files. It translates a given file between bencoded and text modes. The text file it produces is far more human-alterable than the bencoded version.

vidma is a utility for manipulating virtual disk images. It can show basic information about the image or resize it. Resizing is done by in-place modification of a file holding the image or by creating modified copy of such file.
Supported formats:
- VDI - Virtual Disk Image. Format introduced by VirtualBox and mostly used by VirtualBox. It has a few variants, but only two types, fixed and dynamic, are handled by vidma.

There are many image-oriented pages, where images are shown one after the other, laid out horizontally, vertically or on a grid. If thumbnails are avoided (or there are still quite big), which isn't bad per se and has many advantages, we got big page that doesn't fit the screen and requires lot of scrolling. Boring, tiring and inefficient.
Here comes the NavigImage. At last you can quickly scan pictures and photos using keyboard shortcuts. More information can be found in options page.

Navigate to parent address. It means removing page anchor (#xxx), query string (?xxx), file or the last directory (/xxx), port number (:xxx), sub-domain (xxx.) or secure layer (https → http), whichever is first found (preserving mentioned order).

Shortcuts
Use (Ctrl+)(Shift+)Alt+Up for it. Shift means going up one more level, Ctrl - additional two levels. Ctrl and Shift can be combined. If you click extension's icon (in the address bar) many times within one third of second, then you'll go up many levels at once.
Permissions
“This extension will have access to your browsing history and private data on all websites”, but it is only because “tabs” permission is quite broad one. This extension requires “tabs” permission, because it accesses and modifies tab's URL within background page. Content script is used only for catching keyboard shortcuts (until global keyboard shortcuts API will be available in Chrome, then content script will be removed).
File scheme
If you install NavigUp from Google Chrome extensions gallery, then it's not supported. However, some users browse occasionally local file system using Chrome to load some files. NavigUp is also very useful in this case, but setting content script to match also file: addresses gives you following message during installation: “This extension will have full access to your computer and private data.” File scheme is supported only in the version hosted at my website.
Changed name
Previous version of my extension was called “GoUp”. I came up with this name and I liked it, because it was the simplest self-explanatory title. I published the extension in November 2009 on my site and chromeextensions.org. Back then, as a Uppity user, I wasn't aware of the another Firefox add-on doing same job. That add-on is called “Go Up”. I don't like reusing already existing names, especially by similar projects, so decision about renaming was obvious solution for this unpleasant situation.
